Identify triggers and barriers to part-time studying

Part-time study

In June we detailed how understanding local demand for part-time HE courses is vital for universities revenue streams.

Recent funding changes introduced by the government have directly led to part-time HE course fee increases. There is now a real need for universities to adapt their offer and marketing plans to ensure that part-time courses remain relevant within the new economic environment.

SPA Future Thinking are experts in education research, and have created Applicant X to help you optimise your university application process to secure the best talent. We were one of the key innovators in conducting pricing research when variable tuition fees were originally introduced in 2006.  With the rise in price caps in 2012 we once again have been at the forefront of universities’ pricing research strategies and course demand research.

Now   we are creating a large scale, online, syndicated national study of 5,000   20-45 year olds  in England and Wales who have not attended university   to identify the:

  • Drivers and barriers to part-time study
  • Awareness of fees, funding and loans
  • Appeal of course areas
  • Appeal of qualification types
