Developing new products in an evolving coffee market
The tea markets loss has been the coffee markets gain. Much of this growth has been driven by new innovative products, the increasing use of roast and ground coffee, and the rise of coffee pods. At the same time consumers pallets are becoming more refined with a desire for a richer, more distinct coffee experience from the comfort of their own home.
The current coffee trend is seeing a rise in the premium segment, demonstrating that consumers are willing to pay that little bit extra for an enhanced experience; through freshness, authenticity, sophistication or taste. With access to in-home coffee machines consumers now have more choice than ever before, with an increasing range of variants and flavours. It is therefore increasingly important to get the right balance of flavours in multipacks.
